All Medical Gas System Instructors shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of documented experience in the installation of plumbing or mechanical piping systems, including a minimum of two (2) years of documented experience in the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems. Instructors shall possess a current Medical Gas and Vacuum Piping Installer certification in compliance with ASSE Standard #6010.
50-1.4 Limitations For a Medical Gas Systems Instructor
Compliance with this standard in itself shall not constitute compliance with the requirements for a Medical Gas Installer per ASSE Standard 6030, Medical Gas Inspector per ASSE Standard 6020, a Medical Gas Verifier per ASSE Standard 6030 or Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel per ASSE Standard 6040.
50-3.3 Certification of 50-3.3 Certification of Medical Gas Instructors
Certification to this standard shall be through a recognized third party certification agency. Certification shall include the successful completion of a minimum 40-hour training course (Section 50-3.2.1) including a written and a practical examination covering all facets of ASSE Standard #6010, #6020, #6030, #6040 and NFPA 99 and NFPA 99C.
