20-1.3 Limitations For a Medical Gas and Vacuum Systems Inspector
Compliance with this Standard in itself shall not constitute compliance with the requirements for a Medical Gas Installer per ASSE Standard 6010, a Medical Gas Verifier per ASSE Standard 6030, a Medical Gas Maintenance Person per ASSE Standard 6040, or a Medical Gas Instructor per ASSE Standard 6050.
20-4.1 Certification of Medical Gas Inspectors
20-4.1.1 Certification to this standard shall be through a recognized third party certification agency. Certification shall include the successful completion of a minimum 24-hour training course including a written and a practical examination covering all facets of ASSE Standard 6020, NFPA 99, NFPA 99C, and NFPA 50. Certification to ASSE Standard 6030 meets the requirements of this section.
20-4.1.2 Medical Gas Inspectors shall be employed by a governmental unit as a plumbing, mechanical, or combination inspector, be employed by a governmental unit as an administrator of such inspectors, or be employees of firms that are regularly involved in the design, inspection or verification of medical gas systems.
