Medical Gas Certifications
Medical Gas Certifications including ASSE 6005 Medical Gas Generalist, ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Installer, ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspector, ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Verifier, ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel, and ASSE 6050 Medical Gas Instructor are good for three years from the date of examination. Recertification requires successfully passing a multiple-choice open-book examination. The recertification examination consists of forty questions based on the most current edition of the NFPA 99.
Star Certifications are offered in Refrigeration, Fire Sprinkler Fitting, HVAC, Steam/Pipe Fitting, and Plumbing. Details are available online at https://nationalitc.com/STAR-Certifications. All-Star Certifications are good for 5 years. Recertification requires passing a fifty (50) question, non-proctored, multiple choice open-book examination within ninety days of the expiration date of certification.
NITC Journey Level Certifications
Journey Certifications consist of Journey Level HVAC. Journey Level Plumber, and Journey Level Steamfitter/Pipefitter. Recertification can be accomplished by successfully passing a twenty-five (25) question, non-proctored, multiple choice open-book examination within thirty days of the expiration date of certification.
Medical Gas Brazing Process Performance Tests
NITC offers practical Braze Tests to cover the full range of copper tube sizes used in the installation of Medical Gas Systems as required by the latest editions of the NFPA 99 Healthcare Facilities Code and ASME Section IX Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The duration of Certification is Indefinite, if continuity is maintained without lapse (Six (6) months maximum between braze dates). Submittal of a brazing continuity form before the expiration date is required.
Braze certification will be expanded for six months from the date of the most recent brazement. If the braze has not been performed on or before the expiration date the braze certification must be renewed by requalification. The recertification test requires submission of one vertical up-flow joint following the BTS15 Braze Test Specification.
HVACR Braze Certification
With current new alternative refrigerants functioning at high pressures, it is essential to ensure a leak-free system by installing properly prepared, quality brazed joints. Certification is good for six months from the date of the braze test. Braze certification will be continued for six months from the date of the re-qualification test for submission of one Vertical Upflow joint following R78 Braze Test Specification.
